Climate control problem

Hi, I have a Seat leon 1.9 se, Which has climate control, now the heater is really good what ever the I set the tempreture at it seems to be fine, a few days ago, I thought I would try the lo (Low setting below 18c) now I expected it to blow freezing cold air, but all I can say it was cool, a little cooler that 18C, is this normal, my air cooling symbol was showing, I had it on for about 10 minutes and still no change, the outside tempreture was 12C so I dont know if this had anything to do with it, will it work better if it was say 20C outside or should it blow freezing cold air all the time on the lo setting, I am comparing this to an old car of mine that had air conditioning and not climate. anyone got any views on this.

Regards Keith

Just been out and tried a few things, I put it on LO and turner the air cooler unit off (the little snowflake) drove around for about 10 minutes, then I put the cooler unit on again and the tempreture seemed to be same, no cooler, howeber the outside temp was 7c so I dont know if this has any impact. if the snowflake is showing does this mean the unit should be working and will it work the snowflake come on even if the snowflake is on?

Regards Keith

how much will this cost? I can take it back to the dealer but its a 260 mile round trip, should the air cooler still work when the ouside tempreture is showing 7c, or could it be it needs to be a little warmer for it to work.

the air-con system should work fine down to about 3degrees, when it switches off for safety/to stop it freezing up.

I turn my air-con on (snow-flake symbol) and within about 5mins is bloomin freezing in the car :)

I'd suggest your air-con isnt working as expected and you may need a service and/or regassing. I think shopping around gets a regas for about £45-50, but you may want to check your air-con compressor etc is working first.

I had a similar problem to this on my way into work yesterday, i ran it on Hi with no snowflake for about 10 miles then flicked it to Lo with the snowflake on and it'd cured itself by the time i went home.

Not sure it'll work for you but it's worth a try b4 laying out £££'s
