Climate control problem

Ive got a 2000 cordoba vario with climate control. Sometimes the air con and blowers will work but a lot of the time i cant adjust the temp, blowers or set the aircon to auto. There is just an OFF symbol in the bottom left corner but the blowers run slowly on warm setting, a fail safe i guess. I removed the front panel and the main part of the stereo and looked for a loose wire but cant find one but with it being a random thing of working it does seem to be a loose wire. Any other suggestions on what to do???

Also im looking at putting a cd changer into the car but the back of the stereo already has all three blocks full, does this mean there is the wireing somewhere already hidden in the car?? Where does it normally end up, i cant find it behind the glove box.

Thanks.

Hello Kev25v6

I am new here and saw you had (have) the same problem as I do. Sometimes the temp from the climate control only keeps heating my car, and I can't do anything to get it cold again. Only wait and hope it will cool down again.

It looks like the knob for the temp setting doesn't work always, or some temp sensors does not work.

I also noticed that the fan from the radiator does never run when the airco is off also when the temp from the motor is about 110 deg.

Have you found a solution for it what was causing the problem?

thanks in advance

Turned out it needed a new face plate for all the controls. Was going to cost a fortune to fix. You could always try local scrap yards but i doubt if any will have one. I had a problem with the pedal box cracking next to the clutch pedal so i just drilled and bolted it together and sold the car on, had it about a week and 4 days of it it was in bits. Not a car i would buy again.Id have a look round your pedal box too. its a common thing for them to go and a nightmare to fix.Im sure i put up some pics on here, check my old posts.
