climate control not cold ....

Before I get flamed, yes I have searched, and no I couldn't see my prob anywhere!

Having just rectified a leaking rear washer pipe (that old chestnut!) Im now in trying to dry/dehumidify the trusty beast, only recently i've noticed that the climate demist function is doing sweet fa! Furthwer button pressing (on a warmish day, ie over the 5 degree a/c non function temp) resulted in a steady flow of tepid air even with the temp whacked down to Lo.

Im guessing that my climate is dying somewhere, does this sound like a reggas or am i gonna have to sell my kids to finance repairs!

Whilst im here, my rear demister has packed up too (i have all the luck!) fuse is ok and heated mirrors work ok, could this be related to the leak in the boot?

I'd def. attempt a regas as the first port of call as this seems the most likely.

Air con system generally need regassing every 3 years or so.

Anyone got a guesstimate figure for a re-gas?

This happened on my Y-Reg dearly departed Leon SE TDi 110. Despite being regularly serviced by Seat the compressor had lost it's gas. Dealer quoted £1k for new compressor, asked Seat for a contribution as it was only out of warranty by a couple of months and had FSSH but they weren't interested. I really hope a simple re-gas will do it for you.

He did me a brand new compressor for £650 fitted, which subsequently failed within 3 months but no problem, got a replacement fitted which was fine for the next 2 years I owned the car. Apparently this VAG compressor fails more often than most.

sorted, went to kwikfit, let the monkeys loose on the old girl, 1 hour later, works like a treat, best bit, they've got a special offer on - £35, result!!
