May be I have asked in the wrong section earlier, is there a way we could modify the lid of the airbox so that we can change or clean the green panel filter without removing the strut brace an coil before ... everytime ...every 6 months!!! One of the stud on my suspension mount got damaged last time.
If it carries on I might have to change a suspension top mount soon....another £200

Eh ??

I just unscrew the bolts, remove the airbox lid, take out the filter, clean it & put it back in again.

Nowhere near the strut brace ??

It's close on my fabia, but I've always managed to squeeze the lid open enough to get the filter out, and vice versa. :)

Soon to be replaced with a BMC CDA, so not too fussed at the minute.

Its an Ibiza mate, Sits right below (or touching) the strut brace.

I have the same problem as you... oh and my top mounts got replaced not long ago

Cant see anyway of modifying the air box tbh (ive tried brut force too). Someone may have a better idea though.

May be by moving the whole airbox forward a bit might solve the problem ...if possible. Need to find a way around this[:@]

There is no space on a Cupra (i assume the FR is the same) to move it forward. Unless you modify the box that holds the battery.

That would be a good idea, has anyone done anything to their battery in order to fit those cone filters?

Mine's bolted down in the boot. I did it to make room for other bits, but it is nice to not have to worry about battery space in the front. It means I'll be able to position by BMC to get ram air effect in the engine bay (more or less) whereas space is quite restricted with the battery in the oem spot.
