Cleaning ENGINE parts!

Hi,

Just bought a 1.8 20vt engine. And the first thing im doing is cleaning the engine, transmission and parts..

The thing is i dont get it perfectly cleaned.. i all ready used "brakecleaner" but it doenst do the job that well..
I need it all cleaned perfectly before painting any tips ??
What should i use ?

Heres transmission i grinded it first but now theres still dirt in de corners i can reach...

engine acid, Google it. What happens is the engine/gbox will got white when you spray it with the acid, then gentle using a small hard brush, brush the acid in the corners and then wash it down and there you go.

For the gearbox only thing you can do is let it soak in gunk engine cleaner.As for the valve cover....time for media blasting.Find a friend with baking soda or glass media and have them go nuts on the cover.Will come back good as new.

DO NOT USE NO ENGINE ACID....

engine acid will make the aluminum *dull*.

To use baking soda you need a blasting cabinet.Baking soda will remove that light layer of oxidation and will bring back that fresh aluminum look.Its good for about 4 years or so....just spray it with WD-40 after and your good to go.

get a steam cleaner on it with some good engine degreaser. And a jet wash. I cleaned mine up with that and it come up lush.
