Anyone know how on earth you fit this?

Just got one off ebay for my leon mk1.

feel around the gaiter and theres two pegs on the sides that you push outwards to remove the old one (mine just pulls off). then put the new one on. hope that helps but its hard to go by your post as to exactly what you mean.

i've removed the old one, but im not sure how im meant to attach this new chrome one as it doesnt exactly clip on? does it screw on? also i've got a new leather gaiter that i want to replace the old one with, how can i do this?
