Has anybody fitted chrome finished exterior door handle covers? I'm having problems removing the old part that covers the lock on the handle.

To remove the lock/cover.

In lins witht he door handle on the edge of the door is a plastic grommet. Remove this and with a T25 torx screwdriver release the clamp holding the lock/cover in place. Turn the srew anticlockwise slowly and keep trying the lock/cover until it comes out. I say go slowly because if you go too far the clamp can fall into the door meaning a full strip down to retrieve it (and the Leon door panel is a pig of a job to remove)

To remove the handle, one the lock/cover is out, release a black plastic clip with a wire in it (this is what operates the latch mechanism) slide the handle backwards and lift out of the door by twisting it forwards.
