I've not put LEDs in my new car as I really cba changing them as its impossible in the TDI without shreading my hands!

My car is now fitted with an iTronics ITB-100HD 1080p Dash camera! It cost about £100, records in full HD at 24fps, tracks my speed and position with GPS and automatically deletes old clips to make room for new ones (install and forget).

I'll upload a sample video after I next take her out for a drive.

Lol why? Not really worth it on the 1.2 engines 24fps is too fast for the speed them engines reach

It's not about recording speed or racing.. It's incase someone hits me or causes an accident and blames me. Nearly every incident I've read about, the driver admits fault on the scene however proceeds to blame the innocent driver 2 weeks down the line.

I've been in 2 accidents (in the passenger seat of my Dad's car) where that exact thing has happened. One being rear-ended whilst stationary, then being accused of reversing back into him. Second one where a woman in a Peugeot stood on her accelerator rather than brake on a country road, slamming into the side of our stationary car, only to end up claiming we rammed her and gave her whiplash...

At the end of the day, if someone does do that, the camera would pay for itself several times over and prevent a whole lot of aggravation.

I'm going through the exact same thing with my first Ibiza and have been for over 3 years! People don't admit cause its too easy to claim now (I'm finding it hard and I was the innocent party!) he even initiated court proceedings towards me last month! I see where you are coming from. But surely it will only record the front of the car?

Yes it does, but it'll show your road positioning, speed and location so it'll be fairly easy to show who is at fault. It has a wide angle lens (144 degree) so records a good view.

I've mounted mine right behind the rear view mirror and have routed and hidden the cable along the top edge of the windscreen and through the passenger footwell. It's all very discrete and you don't notice it whilst driving

So I've been thinking... I get my 4 years NCB in January/February and I've got an internship year July 2013/14 so will have some pennies to put towards a new car!

I'm looking at getting a Honda S2000. The only downside is group 20 insurance, but I've been getting quotes of £800-900 from Admiral/Bell group. I'll probably be looking at a £6000-7000 budget, so will have to go for an AP1 pre-facelift (2002 or so).

What d'ya guys think?
