Well I always change my mind.... In some lights they look perfectly white (night), however during the day they have a very slight blue tinge. However the 8 SMD LED sidelights I've had are the best!

The new sidelights also came, however am disappointed. I've realised, my old sidelights had 8 SMD chips rather than the 4 that I ordered. In comparison, the light output is quite front facing and weak, compared to the 8 SMD chip.

I have to disagree with this.. Mines arent "weak" by any means. Everyone has their own opinion though!

Jacked up the Beeza today, removed the alloy and arch lining, and was finally able to reconnect the water bottle pump that had come apart. Not sure if it will stay sealed, so may need to buy a new seal...

However, seemed okay when I was driving home today, washers worked with full pressure, and still had liquid in the bottle after 3 hours unlike before :D

Needs a good wash and a couple of layers of AG HD wax but the weather is shocking at the moment!!

Still tempted by silver front indicator bulbs (amber when used). Am I best to get LED or halogen bulb?

Anyone got a possible little mods they could recommend? I've thought about the mini centre sun visor, and sunglasses holder but they are little use to me.

I'm thinking of using the 'Cockpit Recorder' iPhone app which records GPS position, speed, acceleration and video, so that evidence is available if I'm involved in an accident. Anyone have experience of this app, or one similar?

Just saw this on a BMW forum, in a thread about silver front indicators;

"Just spray the std orange ones with grey primer.
Take the originals out & spray with std grey car primer, allow to dry (about 5 mins) then do a second coat.
Once back in the car, they are totally invisible, but with no apparant loss of colour when flashing, strange but true.
I read this on the net years ago & gave it a go. 4 years on, still going strong"

Interesting...tempting but perhaps might be better to get proper ones. Any thoughts?

I've seen chrome finished indicator bulbs for sale at £5.99 by HIDS4U with free postage. It is at least cheaper than the Silvatec ones at £6.95 inc P+P. Reviews of them on the HIDS4U website is decent.

I think the indicator bulbs are 382s you need, with opposite (straight) pins.

Okay, so I got a letter from my local Stealer...

My car's covered 18k miles and they want me to have a cambelt change.... Prices starting at £250.....

They say it should be done every 4 years (despite the average mileage being 60k+) due to degredation...is there much truth to their letter, or should I just get the cambelt done later on? I guess if I get it done now, I won't need to have it done in the future as I won't have it for more than a year or two.

You should change the cam belt every 4 years... but your car doesn't have a belt, it has a chain!

And your car is new enough (unlike mine) to have had the revised timing chain from factory, so unless the chain goes noisy there's no need/reason to change it. There's no interval on it.

W8 light - who wants a silly red light... I've already got a blindingly bright LED panel :p

Sill guards - been thinking about it, but can't justify £65 in my head.

Pressed plates - perhaps, may look into Dubmeister ones, but effort to send off legal documents...

Wind deflectors - had a set before, and went to fit them on a really cold day....didn't think they'd be so damn brittle and I snapped one :banghead2

Fitted one on the other side, didn't like the look of it either. Very plasticy and not swuave like the rest of the be-a-utiiifull car :p

Didn't keep me busy for very long

I think the wind deflectors look good... I've got them on both sides though :bleh:

Already got lots of snow foam, Autoglym HD wax, fluffy buffing microfibres, SRP and more for cleaning :)

On a different note; was just checking insurance quotes for a Cupra next year..

£1390 to be at my house....Awesome!

Oh and for my Manchester Uni accommodation next year.....£4800.....
And if I don't get into Manchester, Bristol is only £1600.

Looks like I won't be getting a Cupra any time soon if I go to Manchester!!

But Manchester WTF?! Is this a case of 'crash for cash'?

Chris,
I have gone off SRP, mainly because all the fillers it has in it, so its mostly just masking the swirls, then eliminating it!

I use Gtechniq P1 Polish now, flipping awesome polish

google it/check the youtube vids, I have tried a few polishes, and its one the best hand applicated polishes IMO :)

bit pricey, but will last you ages, like SRP 1 litre lasted me like 1.5years lol

Ideally, I want to use a rotary properly, might have to find a good course :)
