does anyone know if its possible to change the bulb in the reading light because i want to get a red one if they even exist. i found an interior light on ebay but it doesnt specify where it goes. heres the link:

http://cgi.ebay.ie/RED-LED-INTERIOR...s_SM?hash=item587ec232a7&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

so if anyone could clear up these 2 things:
1.can you change the reading light bulb
2.will the one on ebay work as a replacement bulb

thanks in advance,
David;)

o right. the thing that confused me was that it said it replaces an interior light in the car so i was hoping it was the reading light. have you any idea if its even possible to change the reading light bulb yourself?:headhurt:

red bulb personally bad idea you won't see much and it will look a bit like a pimp car or just tacky. Sorry but my opinion, the W8 light a bit of it lights up red or something thou, I'm sure someone can explain better than me as I don't have one!

No reason this can't be done with the Ibiza, it just requires a little more work than splicing in some LEDs. Basically you make up a circuit that is triggered off the central locking servo, when the doors are popped the timer gives power to the LEDs for 10 seconds say.

The only downside will be every time you lock or unlock the car you'll get the LEDs on for 10 seconds. A refinement if you have an alarm is to use the alarms CL trigger & earth through something the alarm disables.

This is the sort of thing I'm thinking of, needs some adaptation however.

wel the LEDs i saw were connected to the interior light so the only disadvantage was that the door handle lights came on whenever you turned on the reading light:(

but still id love to have them:funk:

Side effect that some people have when fitting an LED to the interior light.
I've since removed mine as I've changed over to a Skoda interior light unit with map reading lights either side. Decided not to keep the LED set up as my girlfriend complained it was too bright when she borrowed the car, which to be fair it was a little bright with 3 high power LED's in it.
