Changing headlight - problems?

Hi,

I have an Ibiza Cupra 2006 model. The passengers side low beam lamp has blown. I already have the replacement sitting here on my desk.

Questions:

- From a cursory glance under the bonnet this-morning it looks like I have to take the battery out to get enough room to open the cover of the headlights. Correct?

- If I disconnect the battery, what will happen when it's reconnected? Will the alarm reset and need a code? I imagine the radio will need a security code (not sure where that is in my manuals... hmmm). Anything else I should know about?

I don't really want to do what the manual says and go to a Seat dealer for this and be charged 80 quid for a five minute job. :-(

thanks,
dd

Kirkcaldy!!
it can be done without having to remove anything like the battery, if you have small hands it makes it easier, bt it is do able. maybe ask someone with lady hands to help out ?

but if you disconnect the battery all you'll need is the radio code, but i'd check too see if you have the code first as seat can charge you to tell you what it is!

Ok. Thanks for the replies.

I managed to get my hands into the gap and change the bulb without difficulty. There was more room to work in than I thought.

Thanks again for the quick response.
