as far as i know its not to hard think stoney did it on his car. think you just need to support the sump wich a trolly jack just to hold it in place then its only a few bolts each side, as i saw mine today while working under it. shouldnt take long

Isn't the dog bone the rear mount?

If this is the same as the Golfs, it is a piece of cake, just remove the two 13mm headed bolts that hold it to the subframe behind the engine, and then the 2 bolts that bolt it to the Gearbox. you can support the whole assembly, but there are 2 other mounts holding it all together.

Then get the whole thing in a vice and change the mount, i used some Loctite on the bolts to stop them vibrating loose, I had a Powerflex one on my car, but preferred the OEM one, as the PF one vibrated too much really.

The actual rubber is in 2 parts, you can use 1/2 the OEM one and 1/2 Powerflex to give somewhere in between.
