Chance my CAT might be knackered ?

Removed my exhaust today as its leaking at 2 joints. While I was taking it off the CAT/Downpipe seemed to wobble a lot , but I put this down to the flexi allowing it to do so.

While I moved it around I could hear the CAT rattling as if there were stones inside it - in other words the CAT may have started to collapse inside ?

I havent taken the CAT and downpipe off as yet as I dont want to go to the trouble if there is no need to , but my question is should I ?

Have you noticed any other symptoms? Eggy smell, heavier revs etc? How many miles has it covered?

Nope nothing like that , the only thing being very poor fuel consumption.
