Centre armrest broken - need help

Hey peeps

Aimed at those peeps who've had problems with centre armrest in the passed, or perhaps have a centre arm rest at the moment and know how it works.

From what i can see, when in the upright position, the handle/button at the top lifts two arms, one on either side of the armrest. These arms lock into place in the base to stop the arm from being moved until button is pressed to release the clips.

Now, the handle is plastic, and uses plastic "lugs/tabs" to hold it in, and also to release those bars. My plastic handle has broken, and no longer moves the two arms, and so my armrest is jammed in the upright position.

I tried to sort it out, but because the plastic was broken off the whole button bit has now fallen off, including the spring. I've thought about repairing the plastic, but its just gonna break again, and making a metal handle is a bit complicated for me.

So, can this be repaired, or can parts be purchased seperately? I really REALLY don't want to have to fork out money for a whole new armrest (in leather as well) but from looking on ETKA I think i can only see it as 1 piece.

Also, peeps who have purchased one, how much did the GENUINE article cost u.

Thanks peeps - any help is appreciated.
