central locking

Help Needed RE:central locking

hullo,im just wondering if anyone on here could shed some light on this dilema for me.

the other day i managed to crack the bulkhead after i had been driving with a knackered pedal box for some time  which is all done with but when i was getting my dad to tow me home i needed to find somewhere to put the on tow sign.after deciding to put it inbetween the parcel shelf and back window my opened the boot but didnt quite shut it properly.i think this might play a key part in the locking going all screwy.

when i got home i locked the car with the remote(not realising that the boot wasnt shut properly so it wouldnt lock) and the next morning when i went out to get soemthing from the car i pressed the button and saw the lights flash as per usual.it was only when i opened the door that the alarm started blaring.all i had done last night was set the alarm and immobiliser but not lock it.

ever since then i have had to lock it manually on both sides of the car.the key fob still sets the alarm and immobiliser but doesnt do anything to the locks.

now normally i wouldnt be too bothered about this right away but even though it didnt lock the actual car it locked the petrol filler flap and now it wont open ,meaning i cant use the car because i am currently on the petrol light.i can hear it making the noise it does when the locking is working as normal but its not doing anything.

before i pay someone to ahve a look at it does anyone have any idea what the problem may well be??

sorry for the essay and thanks in advance

bryan

maybe the air line has come off one of the locks and is not making a suction anymore?
only a guess but its free to check.
id stab at the boot first, prize off the trim, clips all the way round the edge, and then just see if the pipe has come loose from the locking mechanism.

all i can think of at the mo... sent it to the top of the list again anyhow

the pump is located in the boot behind the trim to the right.

dig it out and see if its wurring when you lock the doors.

if it is, then like above its probably a hose, if not then maybe the pump has died.

if all hoses and pump appear ok then it could be your driving door lock mechanism as that fires off the rest of the locking.

Oh and if you want to open the petrol flap pop the carpet off in the boot and somewhere behind there there is probably a short length of string you can pull to release it ;)

Ah, so that's what that bit of string does! Always wondered why it was there.
