Central Locking

Got a couple of problems with the rear doors.

I've done a search, but can't see the exact same problems. If I've missed the threads from the results please point them out.

Firstly, the drivers side will open if I pull the internal handle, but won't unlock using central locking - I don't hear any noises coming from it. Any ideas? Would VAG pickup something like a central locking motor dying? If it is a motor what kind of price am I looking at for replacing it?

Secondly, the passenger side rear door won't unlock at all. If I pull the internal handle the knob pops up (no jokes! :p), but then goes back down when I release the handle - the door isn't then unlocked. I can't open the door if I've got the handle pulled either - so the door won't open at all! . When I press the unlock button I can hear the motor try to unlock the door twice. This sounds more like a cable problem doesn't it? Is the system a vacuum? Will the door card come off if the door wont open?

Thanks for any help. :help:

I had the same problem with my rear passenger side door , pull the interior door handle & the button came up but it would`nt open . I had to have a new central locking mechanism & latch assembly @ £76 + vat , cost about £210 with fitting but at least there was no damage to the door panel . It looked a pig of a job to get the panel off with the door locked .

VAG-COM should point out a probem if its wiring. The front one does anyway, as you can't hear any noises from the servos.

The Rear one could be the servo or mechanism giving up as you can hear it so there is power getting to it.

Its not a pneumatic central locking on a Leon. Its Audis that seem to use that.

Sounds definitely like a panel off job to me mate.
