central locking woes mk3

the central locking wont operate off the fob, it will open and unlock using key in the door but will not respond to pressing the button on the fob. the fob is working as the red light on the key flashes when its pressed. where is the reciever located? and can anyone recommend a solution. thanks in adavance

Try this mate. Ive had the same problem with mine twice and this has sorted it. Seat would charge a fortune to do this.

1. turn ignition on to red lights on dash
2. turn off immediately and pull key out
3. hold one of the bottons on the key down (dont matter which)
4. press the other 3 times (with a slight pause) 1 . 2 . 3
5. watch led on the key (it should falsh) and doors usually try lock/unlock
6. turn ignition key back on to the red lights and wait 5 seconds
7. take key out and test operation.

hello mate. sorry to hear about your issue and glad its sorted as my newly purchased ibiza mk3 also has this condition, cant wait to try it out . . . wish me luck as you've made it look easy :)
