Central locking problem

This is quite a bizarre problem with my 2001 Leon 1.9 TDI SE. I don't have a remote key fob so all central locking is done manually with the key. As of today, from the outside, you can lock the drivers door but none of the others lock and the speedometer/rev counter lights stay on.
I've found that if you press the central locking button on the inside of the door everything locks fine but thats not much good if you are on the outside trying to lock everything!
The immobiliser light on the drivers door lock doesn't go on anymore either.

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Did you ever find an anser to this? i've just had the same issue whilst locking my car tonight. The drivers door locks but nothing else, the lights inside stay on also but eventually go out after about 60 seconds. I have to manually press the lock button on the drivers door whilst im out of the car and then lock the drivers door with a key!

Very annoying! unlocking the car with the key is fine all the doors unlock. I can start the car fine also. Just odd when it comes to locking, the lock makes a weird sound as in no electronics!

Please help someone!!

I've had something similar. Only bought the car on Saturday but the remote only unlocks the driver side. I can unlock the rest from inside though and the remote will lock all the doors.

To resolve, I was told to disconnect both leads from the battery, leave for a couple of minutes, and then hold the two ends of the leads together for a minute. Leave it for a couple of minutes again and reconnect. I don't know how important the time periods are, but I do know that when I reconnected everything my central locking was working as it should be. I'm told that the process resets the ECU (I don't know any better) and it will now learn the way I drive too, rather than being adapted to one of the previous owners. I guess that's good then :D

One downside however; I don't have the radio code so I've now been locked out of using the radio system until I can get it sorted at the dealers. Dammit!

Maybe some of this will help you guys?

I only have one key too; the remote one. I can only describe my experiences, and my key continued to work after the 'reset'. For all I know it's not even any kind of reset, but it did sort my locks out. It was just called a reset by the guy I work with who has a Coctavia, so that's what I'm calling it.

As I said though, I did have to do the radio key code, and since I don't have it, I'm now locked out of using the stereo, so make sure you have yours (if your radio is 'codified') before you do it
