Hi guys,

Am looking at getting my PD150 remapped. most places claim around 185bhp but Celtic tuning claim 210! This seems very high to me. Anyone have any opinions or experiences?

Thanks

Tim

seems very high mate, just watch out for them, lots of big power remaps can be VERY smokey! i had pd130 fold gti and it did 174.5bhp. was a bedrock who are a jabba dealer up here.

That does sound spectacularly high on a standard turbo IMHO - if it does hit it, then I'd expect a lot of smoke and a highly stressed turbo. Might hit the figures, but considering my PD130 with Stage 2 hybrid / FMIC 'only' hit 201 real ones, I doubt it..

Not really possible m'thinks... 190BHP is about as good as it gets, and even then you're really pushing the turbo beyond it's comfortable limits.

Theres a good reason that most companies quote around 175-190 (give or take.) The standard set ups just cant sustin much more (too much boost for turbo, clutch slip, intake temps etc etc.)
Best to stick with what has been tried and tested by the guys here, like Jabba, custom code or revo ;)

Okey Dokey,

Any idea what boost the PD150 runs standard and how much boost the stock internals are good for?
My guess is that dieseld cope better than petrols being stronger engines to start with.

yea would be about right, they remapped my gf's pug 206 2.0 HDI from 90bhp and 150lb ft torque and is now running at 128bhp and now 200lb ft torque, been tested on a rolling road, so the guys there do a really good, and they are getting a rolling road there to :D

Fantastic mate. I don't think any of us doubt there ability to do a decent map for your car... just that the headline figures are a little inaccurate. I'm sure you'll let us know how you get on.

Someine said they are flywheel figures in which case that should be fine. Im a little uncomfortable about the figures quoted if they are whp anyway especially the torque figure with a standard clutch.Im gonna get an independat RR done after so will be able to let you all know :)

Yes, you would assume they are flywheel figures - that's what we all quote! ;o)

My 221 flywheel BHP was equal to 166BHP at the wheels...

Well it's done! WOW ! First impressions are its feckin quick. Will drive home tonight and over the next couple of days get a better idea of how its going. He reckoned I would see 80% of the new power today with the final 20 coming in after around 100 miles. Need new brakes now cos it dont wanna stop!!

Any figures/graph if a rolling road was used before/after fitting?

Better for comparison purposes.

As you only just contacted me and I've only just put a list of what I had done you spent your money for nothing the car was re-mapped to a proven 188-192 bhp I had 2 rolling road runs done on it on different days it was just due the service.
