CD player Questions

hi there,

I'm usually a vw nut but my girlfriend has recently purchased a seat ibiza s which we are both very happy with. The only gripe she has with it is the lack of a cd player! It has the usual tape player integrated with the climate control moulded into the dash so I presume the only option would be a boot mounted changer.

I am happy to go down this route but have a couple of questions. After having a quick look on ebay for cd changers it seems there are loads of different types for vw, audi, seat, skoda etc. Are all the vag brands cd changers interchangeable? Also if anyone has a photo of where the standard fit cd changer is located that would be useful.

Any help greatly appreciated

Very common question mate.

Check this out for multichangers which should help. Also, make sure that you have the changer cable located under the boot carpet on the left.

thanks for the quick response. I was thinking of getting one second hand though as some oem ones seem to be going reasonably cheaply on ebay. I'll take a look under the boot carpet for the cable though

had a quick look in the dark last night with no joy

when you say boot carpet on the left, do you mean the bit that is attached to the left hand side of the boot, not to the left hand side of the bit on the floor? Any ideas how high up or anything to feel?

Hi Butcher,

The cable runs down the passenger side of the car (under the plastics) and up to the boot so it should be in the fall left hand side of the boot. Its also worth lifting the boot carpet and rear seats just to check if the cable has been moved.
