CD changer??

Having just bought an Ibiza 1.9STDI Mk3 I found that there is no support for my sony headunit as the radio cassette is integrated into the center console. There are CD changer controls though, has any1 ever added a changer? Can any1 help me in finding a suitable unit. I cant even find out the model of radio at the minute.

Ive just bought a Cupra, and I cant work out how to change the CD number. Its winding me right up, im going to have to read the manual!

have a look in the for sale section, a few changers in there. Most VAG ones fit iirc so ebay is a good place to check.

The car should already be wired, check the boot on the passenger side, underneath the carpet which covers the rear suspension, a cable will be hidden around there, also there will be 3 holes for the fixing bracket, the holes can be uncovered by poking out 3 percut circles in the carpet.

Takes a bit of hunting but should be there, if your not convinced take off the front panel of the head unit and take the unit out, if there is a blue mini iso block at the back plugged in your ok.

I have a 6 disc changer in the boot. got hafrauds to fit it too. need to buy converter things to i believe, so you head unit can "talk" to the changer

How to you change the CD mate? I cant work out how to go through and select a particular CD number, I just end up putting it on shuffle or repeat or something.

Is that supposed to be funny? ive tried that, and it doesnt do anything. If I keep my finger off it puts the CD onto shuffle or repeat or something. Just pressing those buttons once doesnt do anything.

And yes, there are some CD's in there!

I have a sony Xplod Mp3 changer in my mk 3. Never had any issues with it. Along with the CD changer I had to buy the adapter to suit. Just as said use the buttons 1-6 to change cd. Only downside i find is i get no cd text but i don't know a way around this yet!!

I've got a Sony MP3 Changer with a Connect2 box which will fit into the standard plug at the back, it also has the bracket to mount it too. I'll probs be selling it if your interested?

Just bought a standard changer but been reading it wont read copied CD's, not to sure if thats true. However if it is then its no use to me, i would need an MP3 one.

I have been looking at the alpine cha-s634 mp3 changer, has anyone had issues with alpine units in seats???

Also I found the changer cable underneath the carpet in the boot but the are no bolt holes for a bracket, am I missing something????

on the side of the boot where the strut is there should be three holes, the carpet also has three holes precut which just need pushing out.

Just to confirm...

Can someone just confirm that I can use an mp3 cd changer in my ibiza with the standard controls provided (and be able to plays mp3 files) as long as I use an adapter between the changer and the cable already installed in the back?

I dont wanna go spend £150 quid on this alpine unit if its not gonna work properly, also does anyone know which adapter I need?
