CD changer - will I need an interface?

Hi all, I'm getting a 6CD changer from a bloke at work who had it in his wifes mk 3 Ibiza. I think its a Kenwood changer (although not 100% sure yet!) but it was intsalled in the other car via an interface because the chap didnt know about the pre-existing cables in the boot under the carpet! If it is a Kenwood changer, will it just plug straight onto the cable in the boot? or will I have to use the interface? and if so, does the interface just connect up to the boot cable or will I have to mess about taking the head unit out to plug it in there and then try and hide 10m of cable under the carpet?!
Many thanks for your help!

Not too far away
You will have to use the interface. The std head unit doesn't talk the same language as the kenwood unit. The little box does a translation!

ahhhh right, cool, thanks for that! So does the interface just sit in line between the changer and the cable in the boot? or does it have to plug into the head unit?

An original one would be better! I'm having second thoughts about this changer now as I can see me ending up having to mess about with the HU to fit the interface and then having to drill holes to fit the bracket! How much do you reckon I could get an official changer and bracket for second hand? the kenwood one was going to cost me £60 for the changer, bracket and interface
