CD changer no longer working

Hi All

I have an MK3 Ibiza and recently had trouble with my head unit, when messing about with the HU I have disconnected the battery and when reconnected my CD changer no longer works. It comes up on the screen saying "Error". Also it will not let me eject the cds out.

It is a Sony CD changer connected via a connects2 adaptor to the standard pre-installed cable. Is it possible reconnecting the battery has blown the connects2 adaptor?

ah yes i had this problem. Pull all the connections out including a small junction like box in your boot. Plug them all back in make sure they are tight and presto it will work again!

Check the grabbers inside the changer which pull the cd out of the magazine. They get shitted up sometimes and cant remove the cd from the magazine.

cheers guys will give it a go when i get in. If its not one problem with my stereo/changer its another at the min.

Ill have a look at the cd grabbers if i can get the cd magazine out as its not been releasing it at all

if not i had similar problem earth had come off cd changer

tried the solution and it did not resolve it.

How did you check that your earth had come off. Was this in the engine bay on the battery or on the actual changer. Sorry if questions are a bit dumb not up on electronics etc
