What shape is the standard connector?

I have a Rectangle connector in my boot, i have just got a CD changer which i thought was standard however it is a Kenwood one that has a Round connector.

Which is standard?

Need an answer quickly too, need to get this sorted before sunday

i'm struggling to make sense of your post as the SEAT lead is obviously the standard one...which is rectangular.

To connect anything but a SEAT cd changer as far as i know you will need a connects 2 adapter that are around 50 pounds

Read some places that some people have a Round connector.

Found an Audi cable which has a mini iso at one end and the 13pin din connector at the other. Not sure if this will work.

certinely dont want to buy an adapter as £50 is what a standard changer would cost.

yes the adapters are about £50! Well at least that's how much Halfrauds charged me about 3 years ago!

Right, as I've said many times to people on this forum... unless you buy a standard SEAT one nothing else is just plug and play without buying adaptors. Connect2 make an adaptor to convert the standard plug for use with a Sony (and no doubt other aftermarket changers).

Connect2 connects to your standard factory plug, then leave the box as a power supply and input/output for the changer. These cost around £52.99 delivered.

Shameless plug here, but I've got a standard CD changer I'd sell for £74.95 delivered, or a Sony Xplod MP3/CD Changer for £124.95 delivered. The Sony comes complete with the mounting brackets, Connect2 adaptor and of course the changer.

Too many people don't read up on things and get a bargain changer to find out they cannot use it in the Ibiza with the standard head unit.

Craig, i did loads of reading about this.

Here is the one i bought:

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=131731

I assumed from the advert it was standard, i had no intentions of having an aftermarket one due to the connecting issues, i only asked the question as this morning the changer arrived and it was a Kenwood one. He guy said he took it straight out of his Cupra and he doesnt have an adapter.

So confused to **** really, im 98% postive that isnt going to work straight away. Id rarther have a Standard one but worried that i wont be able to sell this one on or at least for the amount i paid for it.

Red and White connectors? Aux input or mini iso?

How much are kenwood changers worth?

Also do any cupras actually have a round connector for a cd changer or are they all rectangular?

They're all RECTANGULAR. BOTH ENDS. ;-)

By 'red and white' he means RCA (or Phono) connectors, but Connects2 do many types of adaptor and that wouldn't be the one you want, I don't believe.

My advice, Keep your life simple - sell that changer and buy the correct one for your Seat Ibiza.

Or ditch the whole CD idea and get an iPOD with the correct Connects2 (or other brand!) adaptor. Or a TomTom 910 with the correct Connects2 adaptor (which is what I did!) as you can also play MP3's direct into the stereo from that.

Idea was to get a standard one, just gonna loose out big time i reckon on this Kenwood changer as i bought it for Standard Changer Money when it is no doubt worth half of that.

AH well
