hi guys, im new to this forum and not familiar to the ways and means of this, but here goes! Having trouble starting my car, it's fine if i park it on downhill, but if its flat or uphill it wont. I've jsut changed the fuel filter and still no joy. i can get to work, but have to park back wheels on flowerbed to give me downhill start to come home:lol: new battery in january, new heater rods same time. no smoke from car, so i dont think its rods. the car is a 1995 n reg ibiza cls. can anyone help?pleaseeeeeee..........

i'm guessing it's diesel then ?

you have air getting in somewhere on the fuel line so if it's started since you did the new filter check that first

another option is to add a one way valve in the fuel line

it doesn't chuck anything out, it starts first time downhill in the driveway, and will start again in the next 2-3 hrs while its warm, after that. nope

im probably going to say something dumb, but here goes, does that fact that i think i may have a hole in the exhaust at the front, have any bearing on this problem?

the car starts fine when its parked downhill. its only on the flat that it wont start. doesnt appear to be anything wrong after its started on incline. starts first time.

Does sound like an air leak in the fuel line somewhere, probably around injector area

thanks for responding, ive spent all afternoon running around trying to find a non return valve to fit in the fuel line. but the guy at autoelectrical place said not to do it. he pointed me back to the fuel filter, i told him i had changed it, but he asked if i had also changed the white valve on top of the fuel filter, which i hadn't. anyways, now ive bought a new valve for the top of that , with a new clip and new o rings. hasnt stopped raining long enough for me to change it yet. the garage was going to do it today, he told me yesterday to come back today, now he says tomorrow. i'll do it myself tomorrow if its dry. wish me luck :)
