Hi All,

Not been active for a while as ive been to busy with work, however... i just thought id update you all on my car and let you know of whats been happening...
So ive had my seat leon fr now for about 3 months, it is great and i love it.
About a week ago, i slept over at the missus and drove back the next morning to find a dint on the passenger side back wheel arch (around 1 inch by 1 and a half inches and about 9-13mm Deep) - i have no idea how this was done, there waS NO paint work, marks or anything and strangely enough it was right next to the lower door section, but never touched my door... looking at getting this knocked out (As much as possible) then fill it - its gonna cost around £80. bit gutted but hey.
Anyways so i was driving in to work a day or 2 later and all of a sudden my dpf light comes on, then i lose power and my cars gone in to limp mode, in the fast lane of the motorway near manchester in rush hour- Not good at all. then the glowplug and engine management lights are on, so i carried on driving (hard shoulder) at 30mph took it straight to the garage, plug it in, dpf problem... he says its gonna be £1000 for a new one, or £600 to remove it, but my insurance wont cover me to remove it - so im upset... i decide instead of blowing £1000 straight up, ill try some stuff the guys got (DPF CLEANER), so i put a full tub of that in, aswell as a diesel cleaner that he recommends, and he says drive it over the weekend (it was a friday) at high revs and then bring it back on tuesday (But he also informs me that my dpf is reading at 0% full) - over the weekend i took it out on a few drivers keeping it at high revs for 10-30 minutes... tuesday comes and my car is still in limp mode, i take it back to the garage and the guy takes it out of limp mode, puts it in regen and takes it for a drive.. 10 minutes later no luck, he comes back and its goneback in to limp mode, after doing a bit of research of my own, i know that the pd sensor which works with the dpf could be the problem, so before spending £1000, i again opt to change the sensor in all hope that it will fix my problem, the guy says hes ordered the part, it'll be in today at 1 then he'll fit it and let me know, so i goes back to work, in the mean time i am quite unhappy with seat so i ring the head office and inform them of the dpf problem on my car, which they then say that there is no problem with their dpfs, they havent had hardly any reports on them, and that my car is out of warranty so its all gonna come out my own pocket, whilst on the phone... i obviously know about the faulty injector recall and slyly mention it to the operator who does a quick search to find my car is in the recall, so i book it in to get them done and im on my way - happier then before as im now gonna get all my injectors replaced free of charge.... the guy from the garage later that day rings me and lets me know my cars been done, i goes down to the garage to find my car dpf problem solved. it WAS the sensor. which i paid the guy £120 to do (ARENA AUTOS MANCHESTER) and saved myself a good £900! so happy days, my cars now gone in to get its injectors done, and should be done by 3pm today :) so happy happy happy! (I ALSO RANG MY INSURANCE TO SEE IF THEY WOULD COVER ME TO REMOVE THE DPF - WORST COMES TO WORSE - BUT THEY TURNED ME DOWN AND SAID THEY WOULDNT TOUCH ME, I TRIED TO GET COVER ELSEWHERE BUT FOR SOME REASON NO INSURANCE COMPANY COULD EVEN GET NEAR THE AMOUNT IM CURRENTLY PAYING WITH AXA... LOTS OF INSURANCE COMPANYS WOULDNT EVEN COVER ME ON A 2 LITER CAR WHICH IS RIDICULOUS AS IVE GOT 4 YEARS NO CLAIMS, i personally think the goverment need to interveen which car insurance and tell them that they cant label people the same coz of a few nob ends... ive heard of people my age rolling 2-3 cars ... but they can still get insurance on brand new ford fiesta st's for under 3k! - if it was up to me, id make people take intelligence tests, hand eye co-ordination tests, reactions test and things like that to determine what people should pay on their insurance.... my insurance did however say they would cover me for any alloy wheels aslong as they we're under £1000 so i am now looking for some nice black ones :) - will get some pics up when its sorted :3rd:

not too sure mate, but they spoke to the underwriting department and they said absoloute no, i even said that id spoke to the garage and had agreed to remap it but back to the standard bhp that id achieve with a dpf on, so there would be absoloutely NO gain at all, and they pritty much ignore me and said no :(
