Car suggestions

My LCR is for sale so I can buy a house.

I want to spend an absolute maximum of £8000 for a decent diesel car that will last for at least a year doing about 1000 miles a month on the motorways.

Been thinking of a used A4 Tdi or BMW 3 series D.

any other options that i should be looking for? dont really want a Ford, or anything likely to break such as a Peugeot (or anything french)

02, 03 plate VW golf PD150 TDI, my buddy at work has got one and we both do silly mileage, his car has just gone on and on and on. very good mpg and built well too.

Loadsa torque after a touch of revo too
