Hi All

Pretty new to Seat forums, but you guys have provided a wealth of knowledge already!!!
I am looking to purchase an X-reg (2000) Seat Leon Cupra T for around £6300 from a dealer.
It comes in silver, done only 29,000 miles and has full black electric leather, CD etc and in great condition..with full Seat history (also only serviced in Dec) + tax and MOT till Nov.
To be brutally honest, i was in the market for a face lift model, and would be prepared to pay a little more. but haven't found one yet..

My questions are -

Is this a good deal? Seems to be a little higher in price than book value, but with the mileage + leather...maybe..

How much would i pay to have the face lift kit put on (incl spayed) approx?? Also is there anyone fairly close in London that could do a good job? i.e provide the kit, spray and install. Alloys i could source. I believe all i need is the kit + alloys..

Is the face lift model essentially the same car?

Really appreciate your help - thanks in advance.

the dealers price maybe higher than book but the miles are MUCH lower than they shld be for age and it has full leather and you'll still get (a year at least) warranty when buying from them.

i was in the same boat as you in october but i wasnt really bothered about a pre-facelift.

i found a black 52 plate 03 facelift with 20k on, still in warranty for 8500
ive seen some going for similar "cheap" prices of late
id say for one with 30k-40k you could be looking at 8k (maybe a little less if you pushed hard)

The face lift cars do look a bit better to be sure but with 17inch alloys added the 'old' style Cupra looks fine. It would be prohibitive really in cost for a car of that age to add the bumpers and paint them if you plan on getting any of your investment back, unless you can source the bumpers second hand. With all the bits of trim added the price soon mounts up.
Either hold out for the big bumper model or haggle like hell with this one and add 17inch wheels.

Mileage vs price from a main dealer is pretty fair considering the spec and the decent warranty they should provide.

I bought a 2001 Y Leon Cupra a month ago for £5900 with 60K miles. Yours is a year older but the mileage is a lot lower. I think its a good deal.

I too also prefered the facelift model but I went for this one because I didn't want to pay another 2 grand. After owning mine for a month the "classic" look has grown on me.
