right, im 19, im a student, had my 96 1.4 ibiza for a year and 1/2 and want a summer project basically. should i buy a 2l 16v ibiza and strip it or stick with the 1.4 and engine convert. i reckon i could get an engine in in a weekend for about 300 ish. then brake, sus, wheels, exhaust, roll cage bucket etc.

but basically wanna know if it is worth using the 1.4 to do it

forgot to add im doing motorsport engineering atm, so im not just some monkey

valvers are relatively cheap now, so you might as well start with one of these as a base instead of converting your 1.4, as it will be cheaper

insurance (although expensive for a 19yy old) will ultimately be cheaper insuring a valver as standard, instead of a 1.4 with an engine transplant

why not take to the welder for the summer and a NASA Autograss rule book and see what intereresting/unique loopholes and innovations you could implement into the single seater chassis?

the rules allow for various size/types of engine's etc to suit desire and pocket and you will have something cheap to race for the summer too then :):)

get out in the mud and you'll be surprised what you can pick up from the grass roots sport and yes they are all leaving the start line wheels up in the mud !!
