Pub!!
Was out last night, and was about to leave the pub to head off to a night club, and went to start my car and it just died. wudnt even tick over. the radio kept reseting itself everytime this happened. tried it 2 or 3 times then decided to leave it and sort it out later.

came out from the night club approx 4 hours later and went round with my mate who had jump leads to give it a helping hand in starting to see if that helps.

gave it a try before hand to show him what it was doing, and it started first time no problem what so ever!!

anyone got any idea what this might be???? is the second time it has done this now, did it late last year when i was leaving another pub!! but jump started it that time and had been fine ever since

am going to book it into the Seat garage to have it looked at as its still within its warranty.....a strut brace wont affect the warranty when i go to get it looked at (i no that if you change something it only voids the warranty on that piece, eg:- suspension, but just want to make sure)

Thanks

warranty will be fine....

could be a dodgy battery from experience..i know i had one on a past car that did this, accompanied by a clicking noise of the starter beginning to fire.

either way if its within warranty take it back...thats what its there for after all :)

if the problem isnt happening all the time seat wont do any work on it till it happens when they are working on it! is it a dodgey starter motor earth point/lead? common problem on the mk4 :)

i took the battery out to give it a charge when i put it back in it wouldnt start,
ignition would come on but nothing!
was bad connection,
steel wool on the terminals fixed it :)

yup, it's a very common problem, that's why they put grease over the terminals as part of a service to stop them corroding ;)
