Car Mats & Security light

Hello All
First ever SEAT - a IBIZA 1.4 Sport - and so first ever posting on this forum which has already given me answers to some of the questions I had in mind, so thanks everyone.
I do have a couple of queries though:
1) How do I remove my car mats to clean them?????
When I bought the car I managed to blag some SEAT premium mats which the dealership fitted. They are now soaked with snow and need drying. Are they just pop stud fastened to the carpet? If so mine's very very stubborn and I don't want to risk breaking the plastic fasteners or ripping up the carpet. Or do they fit/lift off another way?
(Of all the questions I've had, never thought I'd be asking one so dumb!!).

2) The red flashing security light in my car is on the passenger side door which seems both unusual and illogical. My manual refers to it being on the driver's door (which is the obvious location to a would be thief).

Thanks all and happy 2010.

the mats just pop off mate, just pull =]

the ibiza is a european designed car, its designed with left hand drive then swapped to right for uk, so in a way its still the drivers side door if this helps at all

re mats: i'm a paranoid git when it comes to risking breaking things, especially after i read (on here i think) that someone's mat fixings broke, so i gently slide a V of fingers either side of the fastening point underneath the mat and lift up, whilst pressing gently but firmly with the opposite thumb on the top of the stud of the fastener.
