Well, being the decent chap that I am  I thought I'd do the right thing and inform my insurance company (Barclays) of the new bits on the car.
To start off with, they said they would only insure up to 3 mods in total.

Wheel spacers = 1 mod. (Up to a maximum of 25mm each side). That'll be £15 extra.

New suspension = 2 mods :wtf: Apparently springs and shock absorbers are counted separately. That'll be £35 extra.

Not bothered that I've got a matched spring and damper set for the car with TUV certificate.

Maybe I'm being a bit old and cynical but I can't help feeling I'm being ripped off for being honest.
Come renewal time, I'll be doing some searching for the best price insurance.
Rant over. :D

Alot of insurance companies only let you do 3 mods.

Try HIC - they only insure people over 19 and with modded cars... Thing is it doesnt affect the premium unless its an engine mod or produces more power :)

My ex had a heavily modded astra and was paying about £400 fully comp all mod's declared and it only changed when he put a new engine in it.

I'll be definatly having a go with these guys next year :D

And if I remember correctly they added Drive any car extention on free of charge. x

Yeah Elephant/Admiral site is pretty good as you can do it all online and see how it effects the quote. I've got the S3 and Ibiza on multi-car with them and they were pretty good. The only thing to be aware of is they will only replace with standard parts if you need to make a claim.
