Hi, im currently in the process of wanting to change the audio set up in my leon

i know i need new speakers, and they will be amp'd im most likly going to go for vibe speakers and tweaters, unless i can find better ones in canada as im going over for a week...

but i wanted to know were could i put a sub other than the boot or parcel shelf, the sub dosnt have to be big, just somthing to give it that little bit more bass when needed

reason being, id rather have the boot empty, not that i need it, just for the sake of it, if it is ever needed, and i want the parcel shelf genuwine aswell

i know audi a3s some times have them hidden in the arch or sumit...... and would i bose a3 set up fit my leon?

thanks ppl

The best use of a sub in the boot i've seen is the StealthboxZ enclosure.

Like you, I want my boot clear the whole time - and they're really an impressive fit. Expensive, mind - but quality all the same.

Search google for 'em for some more details.

Then pick up a stealth shelf for the usual 2 sixbynines, they look excellent and keep that 'stock' look you're after.

I wouldn't bother replacing any of the stock speakers. They're excellent standards, and the tweeters are also of a high quality - put a decent amp in and take all the pressure off of them and they'll continue to produce a nice sound - at the moment, they're taking all of the load.

Money much better spent than replacing the stock stuff, in my opinion.

Don't use 6x9s. Even on a Stealthshelf. Do it properly or don't do it at all

If you need boot space, buy an sub box and secure it in a way that can be removed, using connectors that can easily and safely be disconnected from the amp without leaving bare power cables floating around your boot. Then you can have bass when you want it and space when you need it.

The Stealthbox would be a good idea for that, as you can take it in and out fairly easily.

I'm with robm on the 6x9's you don't need them. The mid/tweeter set up n the doors is pretty good as standard just need a good quality sub in stealth box and a good quality head unit.

Then if you feel you still want to change the door speakers then go for that afterwards.
