cant switch off esp light

was just getting on the motorway, decided to put the foot down to pick up speed. when the turbo kicked in the boost pipe slipped off, the car felt like someone tap the brake really hard (totally c**p myself) after that the esp light came on and wont switch off.

anyone know the problem?? did a quick search and cant see anyone that had the same problem as me.

mine came on while cruising on the motorway. vagcom saig it was an ABS sensor fault.

just needed re-zeroing

i'd suggest vagcom as a start to see what the error is.

did your boost pipe actually come off?

the maf failing can give a jolt.

otherwise id say an ecu reset is needed if pipe came off anc has been replaced.

yeah the hose actually came off where it connects to the boost pipe, the light didnt come on till about 10 seconds after it happened.

is this right that to reset the ecu just disconnect the battery for a while then connect it back, also i just install that kvw100 wud reseting the ecu erase this??

ESP uses MAF's readings as a measumerent (and various other sensors) to figure out how much torque is used so as to now when to intervine and brake the wheels.

Just needs a reset and you would be fine

yes negative terminal off the battery for 5 mins.
(you will need radio code).

reconnect.
open drivers door, leave open
turn on ignition, but dont start engine.
leave like this for 5 mins, or until the whinning or clicking noises have stope under the bonnet.
(or reset radio while you wait).

do this on a COLD engine.
