It it possible to permanently disable traction control with vagcom? and avoid having to manually turn it off with the esp button?

I always drive with it off.

It cuts in too early, it provides hestitation / loss of power and its no good for sudden overtaking, especially if you have an armrest which i do (dont want to be fiddling around trying to push the button).

Im debating pulling out the abs fuse to see if it will disable the sensors (dont really need that either).

N249 valve is part of the traction control, it dumps turbo pressure hence loss of power, you done a bypass? I know what you mean my 182 had it and it interfears with the driving alot but not really found it to on the leon.

I havent done the bypass, didnt like the idea of having a pipe with no stop end or one way valve (apparently you cant because it effects performance) ~ dust and sh*t will probably get in and every guide seems to be for every engine except a BAM engine (which i have).

Crikey, I can't believe the number of threads I've posted a VERY simple diagram on to show how this can work. Perhaps, people just need to search a bit harder ;)

To be fair skahigh, the guides are not definitive... and there isnt a agreed general "consensus" as to whether the pipes should be blocked off, nor does it show or expand upon other pipe removals on the 249, as im sure not everyone wants dirt and dust going into their pipe work/engine.

This is the simplest it can be as far as I'm concerned....

You disconnect the pipes where the two blue dots are, then run one piece of vac hose between the two nipples (underside of the inlet manifold to the top of the dump valve), thats it. People have made this mod so much more complicated by t'ing in to various places.

why would you want to have the esp button turned off permanately?...its a safety device first and foremost

ESP wont naturally be "turned off" when u press the button, it merely desensitizes esp. However, the button is multi functional, that is; it also disables TCS to 'completely' off, which is what i want.

As we was talking about the bypass before ive found a picture for you of a similar bay to mine with the N249 removed and a blue hose put in. only mine doesnt come through the manifold it goes along and arround the engine, may re-route this sometime not sure yet.

i have done the N249 bypass. i must admit, this mod is fantastic, the car performs much better. dump valve seems to be more under control. car seems to pull better aswell.:)
the best thing about this mod, its free woop woop.
i would like to no how to remove the N249 valve completely, without any lights goin on ect.

Just leave it connected if your worried about lights, mine hasnt brought any on, i think a wheel speed sensor is shagged hence my lights on.

people act like these cars are babys.. lol

i have removed all of the n249 system with no lights on dash.. there is a fault code stored in ecu that is all.. this code doesnt effect performance one bit. .. best thing to do is get a roll of 3mm silicon from any performance shop (even halfords) pull the pipe off top of dv.. pull the pipe out the bottom of the inlet and scrap the lot.. then run the silicon from the bottom of the inlet to the dv.. JOB DONE
had mine like this for 2 years

there is nothing wrong with having a play with your car.. if it doesnt work put whatever you did back to how it was..
