Can you fit a K03 Sport and then get re-mapped later?

Is it possible to have a K03 sport fitted and then get a re-map later?

Also could a K03 sport upgrade be done as a DIY job or is it best to take it to a Pro to have it fitted?

Well i'm supposed to be off on the weekend to pick up a K03 sport with all the fitting etc, so i just wanted to know whats what.

I've just got to confirm with the guy that it is a K03 sport. Its off a MK4 Golf AUM engine code.

its 150BHP though. I thought K03 sports were only on 180BHP engines?

Just poped over to my old home UK-MKIVS.net and had it confirmed that the AUM engine did have the K03 sport.

All i need now is confirmation that i can fit it without re-map?

You don't NEED a remap, but as said you will want a remap to get it's full potential.

I remember reading a thread very recently where a guy was running an upmapped ko3s and a few other mods and I think he achieved about 180 bhp on the rollers.

It's fine to run it with no remap. Getting mine fitted next Friday and won't be getting it mapped straight away. Best to get it done sooner rather than later though.

i ran with a k04 023 with no remap for a long time, and that was with the maf size changed too, so cant see any reason why not. as above, youll not see full potential though.

Thanks mate ;)

Just blanking my plates on the pics I took today in the freezing cold (took a few of thermapl4's too as you can see). So I'll put the pics up in the picture section when I have finished - looks a lot cleaner then it did before :p :p :p

Another good picture of both cars HERE
