Can someone give me a quick answer as to what this light means

Hi All,

Can someone just give me a quick answer as to what this means? When I got in the car this evening I had a yellow steering wheel light come on with an exclamation mark next to it. It was minus 3 at the time and the steering felt very heavy at times. I'm assuming it's power steering related (don't have the manual at the moment) and hope it's just related to the cold.

Do people think it'll go off when it warms up or might it be something more sinister?

Mine done it today. I think its related to the cold as it doesnt do it normally.

I turned the car on and off again and it went out, did yours?

Yeah it did. I was hoping it was cold related but get a bit worried as i've had a few 'issues' (who hasn't?!).

The cold may have sent to the PS fluid a bit too thick so the level sensor was faulting.

Not sure there is a level sensor tbh.

It could be that as its cold and dark the alternator is struggling a little bit, it should have recodred a fault though if the light has been on.

Make sure the battery light comes on with the ignition.
