Can Sat Nav Be Fitted?

Hi,

So looking to get a 2015 Seat Toca Sport Coupe 1.4 but I have noticed it doesn't come with the screen that a lot of Seat's I have looked at come with, the dealer says its not with the car.

I have seen a few on ebay etc, is it possible to buy one of those and have it work with the car or is there extra wiring etc involved? Or not work at all?

Also I have seen some other functions shown on the screens like door open etc, will that still work or will it just work as a sat nav, assuming it works at all

Can a unit be fitted to this car and sorry to ask does anyone know the correct part number if it can be fitted as have seen a few now, some by Garmin and some with something called navigon on it

assuming you have a smart phone ! if so just get a app called WAZE and use that, other than a small bit of data use all free, oh and it auto updates

Hi Jay, but that is only like using Waze, but you have to pay for map updates, that is just like the TomTom, but if I am missing the point you will have to explain more as that is just stuck on top of the dash

Its more than a sat nav, it also gives you info on your car.

Ok I am only aware of built in units or the likes of the Tomtom's but in that picture of that Garmin it shows a symbol of a plug giving the impression that it is a plug in unit

I think they use special connectors in the dash so I would assume this would require additional wiring not just for power but also some wiring (at least from the radio to relay the information).

if you see https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/garmin-pid-garmin-mod-skin-tool-reverse-engineering.416451 you can see some wiring in the dash.

It should work!
Mrs S had an Ibiza FR with the Garmin Navigon Portable System. If you prise up the cover on the dash I've circled in red on your photo, there should be a row of nice shiny gold plated contacts. The cradle for the satnav clips into here. You need to buy the cradle and the satnav unit. I'm not sure if the units are coded to the car, but I suspect not.

Thank you, just waiting for the car to arrive and will have a look, I have seen VW units that work in seat etc so I don't think they are coded. And there are a few hacks I have read for changing the start up logo etc
