Can i have some info on a mk1 leon 20v T

ello everyone

ok so i posted couple weeks back that im goign from a golf mk4 to a seat leon

i have foudn one finally so the spec i got is seat leon mk1 cupra r 180 20v T

what do you all think to this car............ is it ggod? reliable? good for bit of tuning?

and is there any downsides?

i wanna know as much as before i consider buying

well, the cupra r is either 215 or 225 bhp, not 180 mate, so itl be the cupra.....and every post on the leon mk1 forum on here covers the mk1 cupra/r etc so a good search through the forum will see you right

hey,as james says if its the 180 its a cupra.i ve had one now for nearly two years,touch wood(wait for the jokes)and never had a problem yet.got one with good spec and its lovely to drive even still being on standard suspension.only starting modding mine but i think they are good for up to the 225 of the cupra r and am sure i ve seen a couple on here that are about 250hp???

Had five years of trouble free motoring from mine. Well apart from a £10 temp sensor lol!

180 can be tuned up to 240bhp with required mods.
If turbo changed it will take 320ish before needing stronger engine internals.

So yes, very tunable

its got bout 80.000 on the clock, would there be anything to look out for around that kinda of mileage?

I`d be happy if it had a fsh. 80k isnt a worry on a well maintained car.

yeah i no its a woman who has been driving for the past couple of years now and the only problem she had was two new tyres and exhaust but they all been fixed
