Im after something for checking my Leon. Shes a 2001 Cupra, and Ive seen this on ebay -

for the Mk1 Leon, you need a Non CAN bus reader.

In general that would do it, but you will not be able to access all control modules and you will not be able to check meas. blocks (live data). You may want to read a little more on this whole topic, there are solutions for similar amounts of money that provide more use in most cases.
