i have a seat ibiza MKIII coupra with a standard engine but my engine management light is on its been on for a while now.

my car runs fine (well sounds it anyhow) although it does seem a little slow.

one of my friends plugged the comp in and all it read was a code and the words "bank one overfuelling" so he cleared it.

it was ok for a while then it came back only this time it said the same thing but also my said "water temperature redings sorry for spelling espratic".

i got a new temp sensor fitted it and had the light reset once more only this time when i put my foot down it was like it was "bogging"down like my cat was blocked and only getting to 3or 4000 RPM.

plugged it back in and it still said "overfuelling" but now it also said "misfire cylinder 3" and on cylinder 4 it also did not idle too good once i turned it back on.As i drove it home however the engine management light came back on and ran fine again!? has anybody had this or similar before?please help1
some of my friends seem to think that it is a lambda sensor fault as i know myself can cause misfires and overfuelling can anyone shed some light on this one?

also i have looked every where for a patterned lambda sensor for my car can anyone tell me wether AQX lambdas the same for the AYPs? cos i got AYP and no one other then SEAT does them but do for AQX why is this?if not then can anybody tell me what type of lambda it is like is it a Zirc or Titania or WdBand as i have found a site called LAMBDAPOWER.co.uk who said if i find out they will make me one direct replacement.
i would like both sensors eventually as i am decatting my car and would like new ones to put in just from seat two is 200 quid.

firstly, i dont kow if the lamdas are the same between aqx and ayp

sounds like you may have dodgy coil packs which are causing the errors and over fuelling to kill your cat

if you decat you will still get the light i think, as the second sensor wont get the corrcet reading

sounds like a mixture of faults tho, lamda, MAF, coils could all be at play here

thankyou very much for getting back to me i will check my MAF at the weekend.
as for my coil packs i forgot to mention i only changed them about a year ago with some that AUDI recommended as they were more "robust"and charged me almost 50 quid each! can they be gone alredy?
