just had the side of my engine then to see that it the timing on my engine was 2 teeth out :( i also need a few new timing chain cover bolts as the heads are quite badly worn, will be fixing this tomorrow all been well, does anyone know weather my car will automatically get it self out of safe mode or will i have to put it back on the computer?

if i remember rightly you can disconnect the battery for 20mins and it will reset ecu,s faults that is the quickest way if you dont have a vag com i am not sure if it will reset i think it does after a few starts and stops but easier to take battery off

It's quite common for the chain to slip/break on the 1.2. Do you mean SAFE mode on the stereo? You need the radio code to get out of that.

yeah lol, most annoying thing ever, had to drive 15miles home with it being like that, was beginning to think of getting out and walking lol
