Camber adjustment on LCR's???

Erm well ive lowered my LCR about 40mm and had my tracking done but still have really bad uneven tyre wear both front and rear. Ive been looking up the LCR geometry and noticed that next to camber adjustment front and rear it says 'not adjustable'

So my question now is surly everyone out there who has lowered their LCRr's has this problem, plus the uneven tyre wear??? What is the solution, a search has revealled expensive camber kits but cant seem to find anyone that has actually gone down that route.

Is the garage that's checking the tracking doing it in the air, or on swivel plates
(sorry, can't think what their called - dished steel plates you park the front wheels in so you can turn them on the ramps)


Could try taking it elsewhere to get checked out - not ideal, but as you say, others (myself included ... on coilovers) don't seem to have the problem ...... and it's cheaper than buying new tyres

Had my LCR measured today on a computerised 4 wheel alignment jobbie.

Apart from the tracking being way out the camber was marginal compared to book spec ( to be expected with lowering) as you say there is no way of adjusting it

My LCR has Eibach springs and Koni FSD's (only slight lowering)

the measured camber was:

Front: -1.3 and -1.18 degrees (spec is -1.05 max) Just out of spec!
Rear: -1.36 and -1.18 degrees (spec is -1.47 max) Just in spec!

As they are pretty even and close to spec don't think it's a major problem ( a bit of negative camber can help with hard speed cornering apparently - look at touring cars). As I've only just acquired the car too early to tell yet what the tyre wear is like but looks pretty even TBH.

Do you know what your camber measurements are?

On my 2005 Leon FR the mechanic said the same thing, toe-out could be adjusted from the nuts but not camber or caster

You need wishbone bushes with camber built in. I have 1 degree camber on the front.

I thought you could adjust camber slightly on LCR's where the ball joint is fixed to the wishbone(the holes are elongated).my camber is just out of spec on both sides and im not even lowered!need to get this clarified so i can get it sorted.

there is some adjustment on the ball joint but not a breat deal, i bought top camber adjusters too as mine was still way out, but was lowered quite alot

camber pictures please! i have added camber on the back but that of none doing by myself..its down quite low..perhaps 60ish?

I run -2 degrees of camber at the front (with a minute or two of toe out), this positively aides turn in, especially at speed. I ran the same on my S3 with great results. Coupled with a stiffer rear end (ARB and springs) it almost transforms this dull chassis. I wouldn't say things get lively but definitely interesting

As mentioned, the downside is increased tyre wear and when over half worn, quite a bit of road noise is generated by the unevenly worn tread blocks but the slightly enhanced driving experience is an acceptable trade off IMO.

If you widen the track with spacers and/or lowering the car will obviously see more negative camber so lowering around 60mm or more will mean you will only be able to pull back the camber to -1.5 degrees at most. As Rick has posted, the only way to get the camber back within OEM tolerances is adjustable top mounts.

I believe it is fixed amount of camber although can be adjusted slightly.

I purchased these from AmD Technik Essex - speak to Shaun about these.

Superflex site isnt that great really but their bushes are very very good quality. Dare I say it, better in some of the bushes.

As Maz said, we can supply Superflex bushes with fixed camber for £79.95 the pair. Fitting takes 3 hours and inlcudes 4 wheel alignment.

3 hours to fit rear LCA bushes, wow they must be a PITA, the polyflex bushes too 1/2 hour to fit

So did I thought myself, but the mechanic tried uselessly to push the wheel after loosening the ball joint bolts

Only shims or top mount adjusters seem to work
