Hi peeps,

Is it best to get the job done at the seat stealers to get some sort of security on the job? or can any VAG garage do it with some sort of warranty??

How much can I expect to be paying?(I paid £303 for my polo at VW)

I took mine to a specialist (Awesome GTI), i trust them more than the stealers, who will probably go ragging it round the streets.

i just took mine to a normal garage near me but the kiddie who owns it has worked on loads of performance cars such as his 480bhp mr2 turbo, evos, fiat coupe turbos and other stuff, i got my water pump and the whole cambelt kit including tensioners for £120 as i wrk for a parts company and he only charge me £135 labour - Bargain i reckon

Don't waste your time taking it to a dealer. Get a few quotes if you're unsure about final price.

Dealer took 2 days to do mine.. probably didn't bother looking at it until 5:25pm on day 1.

£120 is expensive unless they were genuine parts mate.

Parts can be sourced from www.vwspares.co.uk for only £95 inc postage

i paid £80 for belt, tensioner, roller, and a water pump (metal impeller), fitted my self in a few hours. :) it's really not hard!

Also did thermostat (£4) and aux belt (£2.50) and aux tensioner (£27)

Those prices are staff price at unipart (i don't work there lol), (Cambelt and tensioner from vwspares.co.uk)
