Cambelt change

I am trying to change my Arosa SDi diesel engine for one I bought in a scrap car. The engine and gearbox are on my bench and I am planning to change the cambelt before swapping it. I have taken the 4 bolts out of the pulley at the end of the crankshaft, but the pulley refuses to move. Am I right in assuming that I need to buy/hire/borrow a puller to get the pulley off rather than start undoing the central bolt which holds the crankshaft socket on. I have to get the pulley off to remove the plastic cover which would prevent me getting to the cambelt.

(I have done lots of cambelts on other cars but have not come across this particular arrangement and do not have a manual)

Thanks. Took your advice and now its off. Its just about having the confidence that if I was going to hammer the &*%! out of it it would move and I'd do no harm. Thanks again for your help.
