How often should this be changed? Am I right in thinking every 60k miles? Also how much are they? Just for the part

BTW, I have a 1.4 .cool/s (MPi engine)

change it at 60k, parts are cheap (really cheap) and it should take a capable mechanic about an hour to do.

ah, my brothers mates dad will do it. is it just a stealer part? or could a motor factor get hold of one?

Widely available

GSF would suggest about £8, tensioner is about £26

But while you're there you may as well change the power steering belt & alternator belt too as they all have to come off to do the job. power steering belt is about £3, alt belt about £8
