Cam Belt Changed - now got a blowing sound

Just had the cambelt changed on the Leon TDI 110 at the local garage. Driving to work this morning it there is a loud blowing noise from the front of the car when accelerating at 2000 rpm upwards. Could this be related to something not done properly during the Cam belt change or is it more likley an unrelated exhaust problem?

Didn't notice any power differance - where are the intercooler pipes? are they easy to check the intercooler pipes?

Thanks for the reply!

You should find some pipe running alont the left side of the engine bay that are about 2.5" in diameter and have several joints along its length. There are also similar pipes down at the bottom on the same side which will probably be your source as I think these need uncoupling when the cambelt is changes, basically the intercooler is in the drivers side wing so imagine the pipes have to run from the turbo at the back of the engine to the intercooler (lower pipes) and then from the intercooler to the inlet manifold (upper pipes). If one of these springs a leak you will get a hissing noise when the engine comes on boost (around 2000rpm) which sounds like the symptoms you describe.

On the Ibiza at least, one of the boost pipes comes off to gain access to the cambelt. Sounds like they haven't put it back on properly, or maybe broken one of the spring clips. My dealer's ham-fisted f*ckwit of a mechanic did both  then tried to tell me the pipe was "worn" and needed replacing :( So I drove it home gently and reassembled it correctly myself :)
