It will stop exhaust gasses getting recirculated through your engine plus help air flow as the EGR flap and other bits will be removed from the air inlet system so not restricting flow. Unless you are going to fit a hybrid turbo personally i wouldn`t bother. Removing the EGR will bring up a fault code on your dash which can only be removed with a remap so costing more money.
Or you can fit a blanking plate with a 5mm hole in it which will cut down the amount going back into the intake and will not put the engine check light on.
