Well the coppers were doing spot checks on caernarfon road in Bangor today at 1am and I got done for having my driver and passenger window tints too dark. It only let 48% of light through so I was advised to have them removed. Car is going to look very odd now. At least they caught a car thief while I was there. According to them he only just nicked the car.

I have been trying to get pulled for my tints for ages, fancy taking them all off because I had enough of them. But I don't wanna take them off for no reason just seems like a waste of money.

With that in mind think I will have to soon because my mate seemed to forget he had a firework in his hand tonight and when it went off hit my window leaving a few slight marks in it.... hopefully they will come out with some glass polish, otherwise he's not on my xmas list.

the police rule is if they aint standard they r illigal so yes the rule is drivers and passenger side windows tinted to any tint is illigal, windows r tinted to start with so when people say it legal once added to the legal tint of the window its illigal, same as all number plates! saying that my old man is a copper and iv got tints lol

I use to have a Fiat bravo before i got my GTI, Lowered to the ass tinted on all side windows and back, Big ass bodykit on it, 4 12" Subs in back plus door speakers.

I got pulled over for my music being too loud on the way to work they said it was above legal levels for that time in the moring. They then pulled out a tape messure and said my car was below legal levels, A light sensor and made me take front tints of there before i was allowed to drive it, I was givin 30 days to carry out work to shocks and springs to take them above legal limits and had to take my car to local police station to have it checked, Fort sod it and sold it on ebay lol. Reported to the police station in my GTI and said ahhh i sold it i could not be assed with the work, Then got a £35 spot fine lol.

Was told if i lower my car it must be a legal level for speed bumps because of new council enforments in the area, Was told to remove tints because they did not allow 60% of natural light trow. What a piss on, Thats why other then some internal mods and some light out mods my GTI is staying basicly the way i got it.

they have a natural tint to the glass to start with, i think light smoke added to the fronts is about as legal as you can go, although ive heard some people say that even thats pushing it

You are allowed 75% or higher light transmition through the front windows. You're already at about 80% as standard so any tint isn't pushing it, it's illegal.
