Buzzing noise!!!

hey, just parked my car up earlier and noticed a buzzing noise comming from front of engine (sounds like some sort of pump?)even when the car is turned off and locked up. it stops after about 5 mins but does it everytime the ignition has been turned on then off. just wonderin if this is normal of does summin sound F****d?

It does it all the time, wether the engine is stone cold or red hot.

I think its near the driver's side headlight, just behind it is a metal cylinder... thats where the noise was coming from for me - i just assume it was engine cooling related.

has anyone else's pump failed?

Mine was replaced under warranty just under 2 years ago but is now on its way out again. Can hear it grinding and spluttering for a few seconds after you switch off, then it runs ok.

A few quid to replace i believe.
